You can delete your Chatopia account and the information in it at any time. We delete it within 24 hours of your request.
In the app (fastest)
- Open Chatopia and go to Profile, then tap the gear icon to open Settings.
- Tap Delete account.
- Read what will be deleted, enter your password, and tap Request account deletion.
We are notified straight away, delete the account within 24 hours, and email you when it is done. Until then you can cancel the request from the same screen.
If you can't open the app
Email [email protected] from the email address on your account with the subject Delete my account, and include your @username. We may reply to confirm it is really you, and we will delete the account within 24 hours of confirming.
What we delete
- Your profile, photo, bio, location and interests
- Your posts and the photos in them
- Your comments, likes, poll votes and follows
- Your feedback messages
- Your email address, date of birth and sign-in sessions
What we keep
- The date and outcome of your deletion request, as a record that we handled it. Your username, email and any reason you gave are erased.
- Copies in our providers' backups, which expire within 30 days. We do not restore deleted accounts.
- Limited records the law requires, or that stop a banned person coming back.
