Chatopia is a social app built around interests. You pick the things you love, like music, cooking or programming, and your feed and Discover are shaped around them. You can share text posts, photos, questions and polls, follow people, and see likes, comments and votes arrive live.

Open the app, tap Create account, and enter your email, a password, a username, a display name and your date of birth. You need to be at least 13. If we ask you to confirm your email, open the link we send you, then come back and sign in. After that you choose your interests and finish your profile.

Yes. On the sign-in screen you can type either your email address or your @username, together with your password.

• Check your spam or junk folder. Emails come from [email protected].
• Make sure you typed your email address correctly when you signed up.
• Wait a minute or two, then try again. If it still does not arrive, tell us through Settings > Send feedback, or email [email protected].

Tap the + button on Home. You can create four kinds of post:

• Text: up to 1,000 characters.
• Photo: up to 4 photos, with an optional caption.
• Question: ask the community something. Replies are called answers.
• Poll: a question with 2 to 4 options.

Yes. When you create a post you can pick one of your interests as its topic. Topics help other people who like the same thing find your post in Discover.

Tap an option to vote. You can vote once, and votes are final. After you vote you see the live percentages. Other members cannot see who voted for what, only the totals.

Tap the three dots on your own post and choose Delete post. To remove a comment you wrote, open the comments and tap Delete next to it. Deleted posts and comments are removed from Chatopia.

Editing posts is not available yet. For now you can delete a post and share it again.

Discover is where you find something new. It shows trending interests, people you might like, and posts picked for you, based on your interests and who you follow. You can also search for people, posts and interests, or browse all interests and open a topic to see its posts.

Open their profile, from a post, a comment or Discover, and tap Follow. Tap Following to unfollow. Counts of followers and following update live.

Go to Profile > the gear icon > Edit profile. You can change your photo, display name, username, bio, location and interests (up to 10), then tap Save.

A username is 3 to 20 characters: lowercase letters, numbers, dots and underscores. It must start and end with a letter or number, and have no two dots in a row. Usernames are unique, so you may be told one is taken.

Go to Settings > Password and security > Change password. You will enter your current password and a new one (at least 8 characters). Changing it signs you out of your other devices.

Go to Settings > Email address, type your new address and your current password, and tap Send confirmation link. Your email only changes after you open the link we send, so a typo cannot lock you out. For safety, we may ask you to confirm from both your old and your new address.

Settings > Password and security > Where you're signed in lists every device that is signed in to your account, with its model, last activity and sign-in date. You can sign out any one of them, or all the others. If you see something you do not recognise, sign it out and change your password.

Use the Forgot password link on the sign-in screen and we will email you a reset link. Open it, choose a new password, then sign in again.

Open Settings > Send feedback, choose Delete my account, and send it. We will delete your account and its content and confirm by email, usually within 30 days. This cannot be undone.

Not yet. Passkeys, which let you sign in with your fingerprint, face or screen lock, are coming soon.

Other signed-in members can see your public profile and your posts and comments. Your email, date of birth and sign-in details are private. Photos you post can be opened by anyone who has the link. Read the full Privacy Policy for details.

No. Chatopia has no ads and no advertising or analytics trackers, and we do not sell your information.

Only if you tap Use my current location when editing your profile. The app asks permission, reads your approximate location once to fill in a place name, and does not send or store the coordinates. You can always type your location instead.

Tell us through Settings > Send feedback, with a link or the person's @username, and what happened. We review reports and can remove content or accounts that break the Terms of Service.

• Check your internet connection and tap Try again.
• Close and reopen the app.
• If it keeps failing, send us feedback with what you see on screen.

Make sure you are online and pick a JPG, PNG or WebP picture. Chatopia resizes photos for you. If it still fails, try a different photo and let us know.

This happens if you changed your password, signed out of other devices, or your sign-in expired. Sign in again with your email or username.
